Machine Quilting The Rivers Edge also offers Machine Quilting services. Please call or email us for an estimate to have us finish your quilt.
Our Machine: We use a Gammill long arm in the shop, which is in a smoke free enviornment. We use primarily Perma Core and Signature threads.
Preparing your quilt to send: Quilts need to be able to lay flat with no wavy borders. Before shipping, your quilt needs to be pressed and squared up. If you are sending backing, please be sure to have the backing at least 4" larger on all four sides. If the backing has been pieced, please press all seams open. Please call or email us to let us know your quilt is on its way.
Rates: Our rates begin at .0175 cents per square inch. Pantographs are available, custom quilting with feathers and the use of rulers is also available. Minimum charge for machine quilting is $75.
Binding: Throws, baby and twin size are $35.00. Queen is $45.00 and King is $55.00. This includes us cutting the binding from fabric you provide, machine stitching to the front and hand whipping to the back.
Quilt batting: We use Quilters Dream Request and Select. Hobbs 80/20 and Hobbs Poly Down. Price for batting varies by size and type and will be included on your estimate.
Backing: You also have the option of purchasing backing material from our stock. Price depends on the fabric chosen – we can assist with selecting a coordinating fabric. If you are sending your own backing please see “Preparing your quilt to send” above.
Finishing time: All quilts are completed in the order they are received. Normally a quilt will take 1 week to finish, but there may be others in line ahead of you. Please call ahead for a better estimate.
Getting your quilt back: Once your quilt is complete we will contact you regarding final payment. Once payment is received we will pack and ship your quilt using the most cost effective method available. Or you can pick up your quilt at the shop.
We reserve the right to refuse any quilt upon receipt. Please call us with any questions you may have, or to get a better estimate of what your charges will be.
